SAS Strike Likely
The likelihood of a strike against the Scandinavian Airlines System Thursday has increased.
Talks between the airline and the union representing Swedish cabin personnel broke down last week. On Monday mediators presented their compromise to both sides. SAS accepted, but the union rejected the proposal.
The disagreement is over working hours. Union negotiators say the compromise did not allow cabin personnel enough time to rest between flights. Meanwhile a similar conflict is set for the beginning of next week in Denmark unless an agreement can be reached.
