King Opens New Parliamentary Session
The new session of the Swedish Parliament is being opened by King Carl Gustaf Tuesday.
Moderate party leader Fredrik Reinfeldt will be nominated as the new prime minister, and his formal election will be Thursday. The new center-right government’s official policy statement and the list of new cabinet ministers will come on Friday.
Just over 47 percent of the new members of parliament are women, two points more than in the previous parliament, and the highest representation by women ever.
