The Swedish movie “Zozo” has been awarded the Nordic Council’s Film Prize for 2006.

The prize is to be shared between Josef Fares, who wrote and directed the film, and producer Anna Anthony. “Zozo” is the story of an Arabic boy moving from Lebanon to Sweden. It was the Swedish nominee for Best Foreign Film for this year’s Academy Awards.

The prize jury says “Zozo” is a gripping and relevant film about a child’s survival strategies when confronted with war, sorrow, and an alien culture.
