H&M Reports Increase Below Expectations

Published måndag 16 oktober 2006 kl 11.52

The Swedish high street fashion chain Hennes and Mauritz says its sales in September rose 9 percent year-on-year.

The increase was below market expectations. Analysts say the unusually warm autumn in Europe didn’t help sales, and the German market has not gone well. The disappointing monthly report came after an upbeat third quarter.

H&M says its Madonna-inspired fashion line has been well received.
