Bildt Welcomes Korea Resolution

Published måndag 16 oktober 2006 kl 11.56
Carl Bildt

Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt has welcomed the United Nations Security Council resolution on North Korea.

In a press statement, Bildt says it is an extremely important signal that a united international community condemns North Korea’s recent nuclear weapons test, and demands an end to further testing of such weapons or ballistic missiles.

Bildt says it is important that North Korea resume political dialog with the international community. He says Sweden will analyse the new sanctions, but he expects that the European Union will make a decision regarding their implementation, which Sweden will follow.
