16 Swedish marines rescued after military boat sinks

Published tisdag 24 oktober 2006 kl 12.29

Nobody was injured after the boat went down in the Stockholm Archipelago early on Tuesday morning.

The ship had completed an exercise with three others when it began taking on water and the captain ordered it to be abandoned .

The men ended up in the water, and the other vessels immediately began a sea rescue. Rough seas had been reported at the time.

The navy’s now decided to temporarily stop using all of the 147 vessels of the same kind it has for exercises.
