Monitor is the program for electronic music, radio- and sonic art, electronica and experimental music on Swedish Radio. We broadcast nationwide in Sweden every Wednesday 9.30 pm with a re-broadcast every Thursday at 12.30 pm on Swedish Radio Channel 2 (the channel for classical, contemporary music, jazz and world music). Our broadcast is streamed on the internet and every program can be listened to on our website 30 days after its first broadcast.

Editor and producer for Monitor is Erik Mikael Karlsson. He has a background as composer for electronic music and radio-art. He came to EMS in Stockholm in 1985 and worked there both as a composer and as a teacher until 1997 when he left Sweden in order to settle down in Copenhagen for a number of years. Erik Mikael Karlsson has composed music and radio-art to WDR in Cologne, The Cullberg Ballet, INA-GRM in Paris, Danish Broadcasting Corporation, IMEB in France, La Muse en Circuit etc. A vast number of his music has been internationally awarded. Since 2005, Erik Mikael Karlsson is the chairman and coordinator of EBU (European Broadcasting Union) Ars Acustica.
