Court Rejects Return of ISP Servers
The Stockholm District Court has rejected a request by Internet service provider PRQ Internet for the return of items confiscated by the police during the May 31 raids directed against the Pirate Bay file-sharing site.
The ISP says the equipment, including some servers, has no importance for the police investigation and is necessary for the company’s operations. The court ruling was made behind closed doors. PRQ Internet says it will appeal.
The police confiscated a number of servers used to host other websites and with no connection to the Pirate Bay.
Around 10 companies have filed complaints against the police with the Chancellor of Justice, demanding between 1500 and 27,000 dollars each in compensation for damage to their businesses.
