A 44 year old Swede has become the first person to be convicted here for file-sharing music over the Internet.

The Borås District Court sentenced him to fines for making available four songs by Roxette, Jakob Hellman, Mauro Scocco, and the Eurythmics, using the program DC++. The police complaint came from the international music industry organ IFPI.

Several Swedes have been found guilty of file-sharing films, but this is the first case concerning only music.
