Out of Body VR
A team of researchers from Sweden, the UK and Switzerland claim to have produced an out-of-body experience.
The group, based at University College London, is led by Swede Dr. Henik Ehrsson of the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm.
The journal ”Science” reports that virtual reality goggles were used to create a visual illusion which made test volunteers feel they had left their own bodies.
The researchers believe their findings could allow surgery to be carried out on patients from thousands of miles away, using a robotic virtual self.
