Bonus for Every Punctual Train
With delays increasing, Swedish State Railways, SJ, is considering to pay a bonus for every train that leaves on time.
Swedish News Agency TT quotes a spokesman of State Railways as saying they have become so desperate that they cannot think of any other means than granting extra pay for punctual trains. Otherwise the reliability of national railways is at stake, the spokesman added. Especially commuter traffic in the Stockholm region is delayed very often because the number of passengers has been increasing during the previous years. But no more rail tracks have been built in the meantime.
