Vattenfall to Invest in Britain

Swedish energy giant Vattenfall is to invest in Britain. Vattenfall’s CEO, Lars Josefsson, told the press in Stockholm his company is considering building and operating at least two nuclear plants in Britain.

Josefsson added however, planning is still at a very early stage. The formal decision would be taken in around two years’ time. And the question remains whether British authorities will provide Vattenfall with a formal license. Vattenfall’s plans come as the company vowed to increase its security system by installing a chief nuclear officer. A state investigation recently stated that some of Vattenfall’s nuclear plants do not meet the necessary security standards.
