Majority Prefers Reinfeldt as PM

Despite figures for his Conservative Party shrinking in opinion polls, Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt is still first choice when it comes to who should lead the government.

According to a poll carried out by the Sifo market research agency, 46 percent would elect Reinfeldt as Prime Minister rather than opposition leader Mona Sahlin of the Social Democrats. She would merely receive 34 percent.  The figure has not changed significantly for months.

Yet another poll carried out simultaneously showed that voters’ faith in Reinfeldt has declined due to recent government scandals.
