Wreck in Good Shape

A shipwreck at the bottom of the Baltic has hearts thumping over at Swedish Television ahead of Thursday’s premier of their new series, The Wreck Divers.

Estimated to be from the 17th-century, the ship could be from the same era as Stockholm’s prized Vasa warship, which was recovered from its watery end and is today one of the capital’s most lucrative tourist attractions.

The Baltic Sea is a treasure trove for wreck divers as low temperatures and oxygen levels provide excellent natural conservation. Swedish Television claims treasures of the past can survive intact on the floor of the Baltic Sea for thousands of years.
