Conference on Baltic Sea’s Future
Environment Ministers from the Baltic Sea region are gathering in the Polish city of Krakow to discuss plans to prevent the sea from collapsing.
The ministers agreed on a “Baltic Sea Action Plan” including ecological goals to be achieved in the coming years. In a first statement, Sweden’s Environment Minister Andreas Carlgren called the agreement a primary step that will help to cope with the endangered sea.
With the survival of several ecological areas of the Baltic Sea at stake, Carlgren conceded that further steps are definitely necessary.
