More Crimes Reported and Solved

The total number of crimes that are reported and solved has risen.

According to a new study published by the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention about 1.3 million criminal offenses were registered during the previous year, 440.000 of which were solved.

Even though the figures are increasing, the study points out that the clear-up rate stayed at a constant 33 percent.

Young men still account for most of the offenses, while more and more young adult women also became criminals in 2007.
