Non-EU Students Miss University Visas

Swedish Radio News reports that many non-Europeans who have applied to study at Swedish universities this fall will not be able to, because they haven’t received residence permits in time.

Some 27,000 students from outside of Europe missed the earlier application periods intended for foreign enrolees, and applied instead under the deadline for Swedish students. According to the report, the Swedish universities have provided unclear information about the length of time required to receive student visas.

One-third of the foreign applicants will not receive their residence permits before classes begin during the next week.
