Swedes Ignore Skin Cancer Warnings
Swedish health authorities are warning both the doctors in this Nordic nation and light-skinned inhabitants not to disregard the danger signals for serious cases of sun-caused skin cancer – with an alarming 7% increase in the disease especially for people over 55.
The authorities maintain that there is such a hunger for that sun-tan after the long dark winter that many totally disregard the risks – and insist on taking dangerous doses of light both from the sun and solariums – burning the skin and paving the way for malignant melanoma.
