The "Progg" Movement at the Nordic Museum

Sweden had its own progressive music movement back in the 60’s and 70’s. But, with apologies to Peter, Paul, and Mary and Barry McGuire, the Swedish movement was a lot more political.

Swedish groups like Hoola Bandoola Band and Nationalteater didn’t just protest the war in Vietnam, they often objected to the whole capitalist idea.

Now Stockholm’s venerable home of folklore and handicrafts, the Nordic Museum, has put on a show featuring some 170 posters, from the sixties and seventies, aimed at taking us back to the Progg movement, viewed through art.
