New road speed limits will be introduced in Sweden from November 10th. Most of the new changes covering a distance of 1,660 Swedish miles will be lowering speed limits, with reductions from 90 to 80 kilometres over 1,200 miles. Limits will be raised over a distance of 160 Swedish miles.
The road administration's general director Lena Erixon said that the changes were designed to save lives. Sweden however is still one of the few countries in Europe which allows people to drive while using their mobile phones.
