The one Sweden Democrat with a seat in the local council in Ljusdal said something positive about the refugee reception in the town. Now his party has withdrawn his name from their ballot lists.
"His remarks are not in line with our party programme," the regional Sweden Democrat chairman Roger Hedlund told the paper Ljusdals-Posten.
The ditched candidate, Fredrik Hansson says he thinks immigrants are needed when an increasing part of the population is growing old. He also accuses the Sweden Democrats for being "macho" and says he told them he was not against immigration.
