Sweden plans to double its exports over the next five years, a feat that could create half a million new jobbs. This vision won't be hard to realize now that new figures have shown Sweden's economy is one of the fastest growing in all of Europe, so said Sweden's Minister of Foreign Trade, Ewa Björling, in a meeting with some 50 companies on Wednesday.
Swedish exports reached more than 100 billion dollars in 2009. For exports to double in just five years, they will have to increase by 15 percent yearly. But Björling is optimistic, saying that success will depend on Sweden's international free trade agreements, the development of the EU's internal markets, and the help of internationally oriented Swedes.
