Regular Tanning Could Prevent Diabetes

The sun is not only bad for you according to new Swedish research. Scientists from Lund’s University recently published findings suggesting that women with regular tanning habits have a 30 percent lower risk of getting type two diabetes at an old age, newspaper Dagens Nyheter reports.  

Together with exercise and a healthy diet regular tanning is essential to avoid type two diabetes, according to Pelle Lindqvist, a doctor at the Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm. But this only applies for women who are normal weight. With women who were overweight or obese the study showed no significant health benefits.
