World Transplant Games open in Gothenburg

Sweden’s Prince Daniel has inaugurated the World Transplant Games in Gothenburg. The participants, like the prince, have all received transplanted organs.

More than 1100 participants, aged between 8 and 86 and from more than 50 countries, are taking part. This is the 18th time the World Transplant Games have been held, and the first time in Sweden.

Prince Daniel, consort of Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria, is the patron of the games, which will continue through June 24.
