Crown Princess Victoria

Victoria does last official duty before birth

Crown Princess Victoria has made her final official appearance before she is expected to give birth. She met Finnish president Tarja Halonen at the Stockholm Royal palace on Tuesday for lunch.

"The crown princess doesn't have any more planned meetings with the media right now, but she can still have meetings at the palace," Annika Sönnerberg, royal spokesperson, told news agency TT.

The birth, according to the royal court, is expected "in the beginning of March".

Already last week, Karolinska University Hospital cordoned off an area for special media parking outside of the hospital. The hospital’s official line, however, is that it is unclear where the birth will take place.

Karolinska hospital neighbors Haga park, where Crown Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel live.

Traditionally, royals give birth at home.
