Sweden suffers tuition-induced braindrain

4:11 min

"My friends in China ask me why I chose to study in Switzerland," says Nan Wang, a masters student in robotics at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. Sweden isn't well known in China, he says, and neither does Swedish higher education have widespread marketing appeal internationally. Statistics and worried experts back him up and many think that one solution is more scholarships.
