Not illegal to throw MP out of restaurant

It was not against the law when a Stockholm restaurant asked Sweden Democrat MP Kent Ekeroth to leave Saturday evening.

Prosecutor Ronnie Jacobsson dropped the discrimination case Monday, stating that it is not illegal to discriminate someone because of their political affiliation.

Kent Ekeroth was asked to leave a Stockholm restaurant Saturday after staff accused him of insulting another guest.

Ekeroth, on the other hand, claimed he was thrown out because he is a Sweden Democrat and filed a complaint to prosecutors.

Kent Ekeroth was previously forced to take a time-out from politics after being involved in the "iron bar" scandal where several Sweden Democrat politicians were seen in a public row with a comedian and passers-by and then were filmed walking around central Stockholm armed with iron poles.
