Sandviken take Swedish Bandy crown

Sandviken are Swedish Bandy champions.

They beat Västerås in the national final, held in Stockholm's Friends Arena, 5 - 4.

Veteran Magnus Muhrén scored two of Sandviken's goals, the match marked the end of his illustrious career on the ice. He will now turn his attention to golf, Swedish Radio's sports department reports.

Bandy is rather like field hockey, but on ice. The rink is bigger than that found in ice hockey, it is usually played outside, and they play with a ball, rather than a puck. The game has its roots in the Fens in East Anglia, in the UK, but the game is almost forgotten in its homeland.
