At the end of June, Sweden's total population was 9,694,194, according to Statistics Sweden.
The reason behind the boost is because more people are moving to Sweden than are leaving the country.
In the first six months of this year, 56,440 people immigrated to Sweden, many of them from war-torn Syria. At the same time the number of people leaving Sweden was the lowest in five years.
The birth rate was also higher than the mortality rate, which was at its lowest in years.
