Air Traffic Delayed Again

For the second day in a row flight controllers at Stockholm’s Arlanda International Airport have called in sick, delaying departures by up to an hour.

Four air traffic controllers stayed home Wednesday. There were shorter delays when six radar control operators called in sick on Tuesday.

There were similar disruptions three weeks ago when several controllers at Malmö’s Sturup airport went on sick leave. The civil aviation authority called the wave of illness then an unofficial protest action, which was denied by the flight controllers union.
