Swedish-Finnish Summit on Russian Co-operation

The leaders of Sweden and Finland have called for more trade and co-operation with Russia.

Sweden’s Prime Minister Göran Persson hosted his Finnish counterpart Matti Vanhanen in Eskilstuna, west of Stockholm, Tuesday. They were joined by other politicians, business leaders, and researchers for talks on industry ranging from energy issues to taxes.

Afterwards the two prime ministers emphasized the importance of Russia to the Nordic region. Swedish Prime Minister Persson called for simpler customs procedures and protection for investments.
