Swedish Astronaut Scheduled for Shuttle
Sweden’s first astronaut once again is scheduled for his first trip into space.
Christer Fuglesang is the first European astronaut to train for both Russian and American space missions. He was scheduled for a space shuttle mission when the Columbia crashed in 2003, freezing the American space program.
Now NASA says the 48 year old Swede will be traveling on the STS-116 mission next April to the International Space Station. Fuglesang will be making three space walks to install equipment on the outside of the station.
