Young boy behind newspaper bomb threat

Swedish police tracked the IP-number of the computer from which an e-mail bomb threat was sent to local newspaper Södermanlands Nyheter and found a young boy was behind it.

The computer belongs to the boy, who is a minor. He confirmed the content of the e-mail and took full responsibility for sending it.

The bomb threat, which was received by the newspaper on Saturday, prompted a massive response from the police, with a bomb-disposal team working several hours to search the premises.

“Either you judge it as fake or real. If it is fake you do nothing, but if it is seen as real one cannot do anything but go all-in,” chief investigator Hans Halonen told Södermanlands Nyheter.
