Swedish student debt on the increase
Swedish student debt is growing. According to CSN, the agency that administers student loans and grants here, the average debt facing a graduate here went up by SEK 4000 during 2014, to SEK 136,200.
Around 90,000 began paying back their loans at the beginning of the year. The agency says one reason for the increase is that the balance has changed with more loans and less grants being given to students.
