Sweden to U21 EC-final
After beat Denmark with an impressive 4-1, the Swedish U21 football team will play in the European Championship finals with Portugal.
Isaac Kiese Thelin was fouled in the 23rd minute, resulting in a penalty for Sweden, which John Guidetti scored, as the goalkeeper jumped in the wrong direction.
Only three minutes later Sweden scored a second time, this time through a counter-offensive where Simon Tibbling scored.
During the second half Sweden was pressed hard by Denmark. Uffe Bech scored a goal for Denmark in the 63rd minute.
However, in the 83rd minute Sweden decisively scored again, and right before the final whistle was heard, Sweden scored a fourth time – leaving the final score at 4-1.
“It’s really huge that we made it to the finals with this kind of competition. This is really huge and we’ve earned. We’ve done it on our own, very impressive,” says Håkan Mild, former player for the Swedish national team.
