German decision new challenge for Vattenfall
The Swedish government’s hopes to sell off the German coal plants of the state-owned power company Vattenfall may have suffered a set-back.
The German government has decided that some of the country’s dirtiest coal plants will have to be closed over the next years. According to the German media, one of the plants involved may belong to Vattenfall.
Energy expert Pao-Yu Oei tells Swedish Radio News “I think this will make it harder for Vattenfall to find a buyer, and even if they do, it will be harder to sell at a reasonable price.”
