Dairy giant Arla stops production for Greek exports

Swedish-Danish dairy maker Arla has stopped producing cheese and butter destined for Greece due to the economic turmoil affecting the Mediterranean country, agricultural newspaper ATL reports.

"We still sell products to Greece, but they come from a surplus stock. I don't know how big this stock is and how long it will last," Arla spokesman Gabriel Gunnarsson says.

Arla's sales in Greece amount to DKK 250 million per year.
