Commenting the day after a truck was driven into people on a central Stockholm street, researcher Hans Brun says this kind of attack needs no leadership from organisations like so-called Islamic State, and instead such groups try to take advantage of them.
"They want to increase fear and worry, and increase the pressure on our politicians, so they make bad decisions," says Hans Brun, at the defence university Försvarshögskolan, to Swedish Radio.
And on the contrary, the way Sweden and Stockholmers have reacted is a setback for the terrorists.
"What we have shown is we are a society that takes care of each other. Standing tall. Unselfishly. We don’t back down."
