Embassy refused to help Swedes stuck in Turkey

Several Swedish citizens are stuck in Turkey, unable to leave the country, despite not being charged with any crime, and the Swedish embassies say they can do nothing to help.

The reason given by embassy case workers was the dual Turkish-Swedish citizenship of the people in question. But when Swedish Radio spoke to the Foreign Ministry, they were told all citizens have the right to consular support.

Those being prevented from leaving have been accused of taking part in attempted coups within Turkey. Though none have been formally charged with any crime.
