Liberal Party's new leader vows to honour government agreement

The Liberal Party formally chose Nyamko Sabuni on Friday as its new leader.

The party's conference voted unanimously, as Sabuni was the only candidate left in the race. Analysts say she now faces a tough challenge to unify her party and restore its support among voters.

After last year's election, the Liberals chose to strike a political deal with the centre-left government, something that was divisive yet backed by the then-leadership who wanted to deny the Sweden Democrats influence.
