In his traditional Christmas speech, the King addressed major challenges like climate change and crime, but also focused on more personal topics.

Each year on Christmas Day, King Carl XVI Gustaf delivers the Royal Christmas speech on Swedish Radio. The tradition stretches back to 1938, when the first speech was delivered.

Originally, the speech was meant for Swedish citizens living abroad. Today, the King addresses all Swedes and anyone living in Sweden.
