Karolinska joins global hunt for coronavirus vaccine
As the human cost of the global coronavirus outbreak continues to rise, work on developing a vaccine is already underway in Sweden.
A team of scientists at the Karolinska Institute are trying to develop a prototype vaccine against the virus that has infected more than 24,000 people worldwide, the vast majority of them in China.
Radio Sweden sat down with Matti Sällberg, a professor at the Institute who heads up its department of laboratory medicine, to talk about the time and steps needed to produce a viable vaccine.
