The Public Health Agency hopes to carry out 100,000 corona tests per week within a few weeks time. Sweden is currently testing approximately 12-13,000 people for the corona virus every week.

The hope is that some of the new lab capacity will go to testing health care staff to ensure they are well.

But Karin Tegmark Wisell at the Public Health Agency told Swedish Television that the primary target group for testing is those who are ill, and that it is important to ensure that there is capacity to test them in the first place.
