Idled by the pandemic, Swedish automakers slowly restart operations
Volvo Cars began limited production at its Torslanda plant on Monday and other manufacturers are slated to follow suit later this week.
After the coronavirus prompted the closure of factories for several weeks in March, companies say they are ready to reopen, albeit at a lower capacity.
Volvo Cars said on Friday that its facilities have been thoroughly cleaned and that staff could undergo voluntary temperature and blood oxygen level checks before coming to work.
The company has also reportedly reviewed work stations at the Torslanda plant to make sure physical distancing continues.
