How Swedish museums are re-opening following coronavirus closures

A number of Swedish museums that closed temporarily in response to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic are now starting to reopen, but things will be far from the same as they adapt to new conditions.

The Swedish Museum of Photography will reopen its doors on May 21st but only to guests who pre-book a slot online so numbers can be limited, while both the Stockholm and Malmö branches of Moderna Museet are set to reopen in June, albeit with restrictions on the number of visits they will allow in.

Stockholm's National Museum is also due to reopen next month. Director General Susanna Pettersson explained to Radio Sweden what adjustments they have had to make, and the consequences the pandemic has had on operations.
