Sweden topped COVID-19 deaths per capita over seven days, but comparisons are a 'tricky business'

A new comparison of COVID-19 fatality data from the period between May 12th and May 19th shows that Sweden had on average 6.25 daily deaths from coronavirus per million citizens, an average that was the highest in Europe over those seven days.

In response state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell warned that we should be cautious when making such comparisons, but does he have a point? Radio Sweden spoke to Stockholm University Professor in Statistics Dan Hedlin for his analysis.
