The Center Party proposed a 5-point plan to alter the government's response to COVID-19, calling for more testing and infection tracing.

That party, whose support the government needs to pass legislation through parliament, also wants more flexibility at the regional level to deal with local outbreaks.

Political parties generally backed the government and its coronavirus strategy at the start of the pandemic. But some push back has begun to creep in.

For example, on Friday, the Sweden Democrats joined the Christian Democrats' and the Moderates' call for an immediate fact finding commission into the high number of deaths at nursing homes.
