How to celebrate Midsommar safely during the pandemic

Midsommar, likely Sweden's biggest annual holiday, is this weekend. But the ongoing coronavirus pandemic means its celebration will be different this year.

Organised public celebrations have long since been cancelled, but health officials are warning partygoers to keep their distance from others during the long holiday weekend and to preferably be outside and avoid meeting up with people they usually don't hang out with.

Travelling throughout Sweden is allowed now during the holiday, which starts Friday, as long as those moving about are symptom-free and still keep their distance from others.
