Social Democrats still ahead in new poll
A new poll by Novus for Swedish broadcaster SVT suggests how Swedes would vote if there was en election today, and offers insights into how the recent corona debate has affected Swedish politics.
The Social Democrats, who lead the government, are now on 30 percent, but the CEO of the polling company, Torbjörn Sjöström, tells SVT that the Social Democrats' corona boost seems to be over.
A recent large-scale survey for Statistics Sweden had put the Social Democrats higher, but that survey was carried out before the debate over how well Sweden is handling the pandemic blew up in June. The party has now fallen back, but is still above its election result.
