All political parties want to rebuild up emergency stocks of PPE

The scrapping of stocks of protective gear for medical staff in case of a national crisis led to major shortages at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. And now all of Sweden's political parties want to build up the emergency stocks again.

There was a particular lack of face masks and visors for care and medical staff when the pandemic broke out.

All the parliamentary parties now say that it should be the state that takes responsibility for such protective gear, not the regional health authorities that are in charge of Sweden's hospitals.

But there is still a difference of opinion over who should own, look after and pay for the stores.
